Seminar and Conference of the Czech Greenkeeper Association 2018

Seminar and Conference of the Czech Greenkeeper Association 2018 a two-day seminar was held on 31 January to 1 February at the premises of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, as well as the 19th Annual Election Conference. The new Executive Committee will be elected for the next four-year term by Michal Voigts (chairman), Jiří Kapeš, Vladislav Chvátal, Ondřej Hotový and Miloš Trojan. In the circular hall (Faculty of Engineering), six of our leading and foreign experts and specialists presented interesting lectures. The event was greeted by Aleš Libecajt and Brno Mendel University Stanislav Hejduk. The golf course regulator for the Austrian golf federation and international referee Mark Rotemund (Styrian GC Murhoff) chose Greenkeeping effectively. Jiri Kapeš approached current trends and an innovative approach to golf courses, Jiří Lahodný gave a lecture on Greenkeepers travel, education and volunteering. Kamil Pechenko summed up where CSG has moved over the past ten years and the benefits of greenkeeper membership. Stanislav Hejduk advised how to easily save the irrigation water on the pitch and how we live with it in the soil. He also shared new knowledge from grassroots conferences in 2017. Dalibor Procházka from the ČGF drew attention to the news in the rules for 2018.

At the follow-up annual conference of the Association, Jiri Kapeš presented a report on the activities of the CSG in 2017. It resulted from the fact that all the planned events were successfully implemented, including a certified exam of the gardening technician – greenkeeper code 41-001-M at Plzeňská Dýšina, practical course in Ropice, 5. Field Days of ETS in Brno, Greenkeeper Winter School in Lednice na Moravě and traditional annual golf tournament in Malevil. At the end of the conference, which confirmed among others the current 194 members, the emphasis on educational activities and a slightly surplus budget, a social evening was held. The success of the event was also contributed by the presentation of the most interesting activities, mechanization and products of the Union Patrons that were exhibited within the Circular Hall (Faculty of Engineering). After the Seminar and the 2018 Conference, Green Spring 1/2018 will look back in the first April week.
