The delegates approved the budget, there was also talk of electing a new leadership in 2021. CGF President Zdeněk Kodejš announced that he would like to see Pavel Vidura as his successor. Few delegates arrived, a substitute conference took place. ČSG was represented by Secretary Karel Kubata.

SLUNOVRAT 2020 tournament

The jubilee 10th year of the SLUNOVRAT golf tournament (start at dawn at 4.30 am) took place on Sunday, June 21, at the Loreta Golf Pyšely course. ČSG members, friends and business partners, premium members of the LGCP and greenkeepers from all over the country took part in its launch. Due to bad weather and a waterlogged course, the competition committee decided to change the type of individual game to a texas game.
The best result was brought by a team consisting of Kamil Krupka, Pavel Popelka and Luboš Procházka. In the competition of fifty players, excellent performances were seen – local head greenkeeper Bohuslav Shejbal (he went in a flute with the co-owner of golf Pyšel, Mr. Martin Křížek, a traditional participant in the tournament) even recorded an eagle on the 18th hole thanks to a chip from 85 meters.

Statement by the Chairman of the Czech Greenkeeper Association

Dear Colleagues, Greenkeepers, Golfers,

I know that in this turbulent time, pressure is being exerted on you from all sides, and it is not easy to predict the development of the situation not only here but also in the world. Many organizations and entities publish a lot of information, regulations, restrictions, simulations to be respected and so on. , but we must also openly say that sooner or later we will all feel the burden of these days. But I don’t want to be negative. Our company has proven many times in the past that when we get tough, we have always managed to get together. Therefore, I believe that when we can cushion Covid 19’s population pressure, there will be a time when everyone will have to work for the sintrest of the whole, and I also believe that greenkeepers will keep us going by playing and putting pressure on our needs, expertise in resorts and playgrounds. I also believe that the years spent on our investment in self-education will pay off in the end. I declare this with the knowledge that we are in the service, and these are dispensable in this case.

Conference FEGGA 2020

17.2. – 20.2. In the year 2020, Jiří Kapeš, as representatives of ČSG, participated in the international conference FEGGA in Galway, Ireland.
As part of this conference we also visited one of the golf courses Galway Bay Golf Resort, which we visited with the local Head greenkeeper. He showed us not only the background of maintenance, but also the specifics of the Irish playground and weather.
At the seminars, we talked with individual participants about their national organizations and other topics, such as the role of FEGGY in the future, its direction, support of member organizations, and the environment. An interesting block was about women in greenkeeping.
You can find more detailed reportage in GREEN 1/20.
