Microscopy of the Biotope of Grass, January 2018

The Czech Greenkeys Association, in cooperation with Mendel University, organized another course on Microscopy of the Biotope of Grass held in Brno on Tuesday 9 January. All 17 participants expressed their satisfaction with the intensive course and its precise targeting of the greenkeeper. In the introductory lecture block Ing. Jaroslav Záhora CSc. from the Institute of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Microbiology and Plant Nutrition Microscope and Principles of its Practical Use. In his speech, he concentrated on rich soil life, such as interaction of soil organisms and plants, nitrogen transformation in the soil and mineralization of nitrogenous substances. Doc. Ing. Ivana Šafránková Ph.D. from the Institute of Cultivation, Plant Breeding and Phytosanitary Education has established the basic characteristics of the main groups of grass pathogens and the identification of the characteristic determinants of the main fungal pathogens of grasses. She also dealt with correct sampling, processing and preparation for microscopy. Specified the methods for determining the presence of nematodes in the samples. In the final third block, Ing. Jan Winkler, Ph.D. from the Institute of Plant Biology focused on the basics of grass physiology and anatomy (leaf, rootstock, roots, sprouting and emergence). The course was good.
