Statement by the Chairman of the Czech Greenkeeper Association
Dear Colleagues, Greenkeepers, Golfers,
I know that in this turbulent time, pressure is being exerted on you from all sides, and it is not easy to predict the development of the situation not only here but also in the world. Many organizations and entities publish a lot of information, regulations, restrictions, simulations to be respected and so on. , but we must also openly say that sooner or later we will all feel the burden of these days. But I don’t want to be negative. Our company has proven many times in the past that when we get tough, we have always managed to get together. Therefore, I believe that when we can cushion Covid 19’s population pressure, there will be a time when everyone will have to work for the sintrest of the whole, and I also believe that greenkeepers will keep us going by playing and putting pressure on our needs, expertise in resorts and playgrounds. I also believe that the years spent on our investment in self-education will pay off in the end. I declare this with the knowledge that we are in the service, and these are dispensable in this case.
Golf is a gentleman’s sport, and greenkeepers around the world are fair people. They are valued in clubs around the world not only for their work for the pitch, but especially for their high moral credit. In short, a person without character cannot be a good greenkeeper, which is why I chose this job and I am proud to share this mission with you. I will do my utmost to minimize the impact of the situation on our Union. I also trust CSG Partners like never before to do their best to keep our beautiful sport together in the forefront of public interest. In this way, the owners and operators will have a tool to promote golf, and hence the courses themselves, as tools for the sustainable development of our landscape, population health, greening and all the positive impacts on society as a whole. We all know that golf is one of the healthiest sports ever. I believe that the prosperity of all of us is firmly linked to health and can become the key to successfully resisting similar pressures in the future. Who else should resist than a healthy athlete in a healthy environment.
Dear colleagues, I do not want to politicize this statement in any way, because it is not necessary and it would be at least petty, if not rude. As you all know, no pathogen’s pressure lasts forever. But now we must do our best to fight, keep hygiene and pull together. Please protect yourself and your loved ones as much as you can and keep your head cool and sober. For myself, and I dare say for the entire executive committee of the CSG, I wish you from the heart mainly good health … the rest will come.
